Membership gives the artist a chance to network with other artists while participating in the many events that SWAA has each year. At least in normal years, not pandemic years, that is what we do. The year 2020 was more challenging as we learned to communicate online while staying away from other. Membership is $30 for one year for one family household. This fee includes your own page on the SWAA website that can be updated once a year at no cost. There is a monthly Members' Sale page that is starting in 2021 that is yet another perk to membership.

SWAA OBJECTIVE
The objective of The Saskatchewan Wildlife Art Association Inc. (SWAA) is to promote the education, development and public appreciation of wildlife art.
SWAA HISTORY
SWAA was formed in 1986 by local artists seeking to increase the exposure and acceptance of wildlife art. Since that time our membership has grown in include members from across the province and beyond, with each year bringing promising new artists to the public's attention. The member artists of SWAA have a wide variety of interests from painting, drawing and photography to bird carving, sculpture and relief.
SWAA ACTIVITIES
2020 was quite the year. And the pandemic is continuing into 2021, so our activities have been limited. We are hoping to meet regularly via ZOOM to network and show what we have been working on. We may also have some small gatherings to safely mingle (while distancing) and work on our projects.

In the past, before covid annual activities have included:
January
- a brunch and gift exchange - a small sample of our artwork makes a great keepsake for a fellow member - as a late Christmas celebration
- we often have had a booth in the Gone Wild for Wildlife booth
- at the end of January (or the beginning of February) we will have fundraising event such as a Steak Night - date and location to be determined
February
- we often have a Paint & Potluck or a Pizza & Paint and get together to work on our art pieces and have a meal with our fellow members
March
- we have often had a booth at the Sports & Leisure Show at Prairieland
- we have often a booth at the Collector Show at Prairieland
April
- in the past we had a booth at the Parkland Outdoor Show in Yorktown. This is to be determined each year.
May
- nothing has been planned and we are open to suggestions
June
- Member Art Sale
- Annual BBQ and picnic when we get together and work on our art pieces
July
- how about a break for a month?
August
- we often have a booth at the Saskatoon Exhibition
September
- nothing has been planned and we are open to suggestions
October
- The annual Reflections of Nature Art Show & Sale
November
- We often have a volunteer appreciation night out
December
- we participate in a demonstration booth at Sundog Craft Fair in Saskatoon
We host various workshops when we can during the year and plan fun work bees to create pieces for fundraising.
Our association and planning meetings are scheduled regularly during the year to get ready for our October show. That show would not be a success without the work of the many dedicated volunteers!
